Meyer Produce becomes Ben and Molly’s Farm

It was a perfect morning on the farm with the sun shining through the greenhouse onto the sea of plants and just enough breeze to cool your face. Every plant was in it’s place, the banners hung, and the crew ready for the morning ahead. It was the most welcoming view for visitors stopping by for the annual Plant Sale and the new farm name reveal. The plants were standing extra tall toward the sun shining down and everyone had a smile on their face. As the first cars started arriving, you could tell the nerves were starting to set in but stronger was the excitement gleaming on their faces. There was so much planning that went into this day and next chapter ahead for the farm. It was years in the making and the day was finally here! After a few excited jumps and squeals, it was time to get to work. Ben parked cars and Molly welcomed guests outside the greenhouse as they started arriving. Their family was running checkout and selling baked goods. It felt like one big family as Molly visited with each of the customers and answered their questions. Ben and Molly’s Farm is centered around building a connection to the farm. They give so much love and compassion to what they grow and to their customers.

If you have had the opportunity to meet Jeff Meyer, you know he is a vivid story teller and has witnessed both good and bad seasons during his time managing the farm. Everything he knew, he has taught Ben and Molly since they began this journey at the farm. Jeff still to this day lives on the farm and helps out whenever he can. He took great pride in his task of keeping plants stocked in the greenhouse during the plant sale. You can tell farming is a passion that will never fade for Jeff.
Ben and Molly have owned the farm for almost a decade and the name change wasn’t a decision that came lightly to them. Jeff started the farm over 30 years ago and was the backbone to the beginning of what we now know as one of the most thriving farmer’s markets in our area. He was a huge influence on local foods and connecting farms to the customers directly. Ben and Molly have furthered this mission and some! This farm is more than just a place where produce is grown, it is a place where laughs are shared, where new ideas are cultivated, and where community comes together. As the reveal time approached, the crowds gathered around. Everyone cheered as the banner rolled down to reveal the new name, “Ben and Molly’s Farm.” This happy moment made it that more official that Ben and Molly will continue to grow the legacy of Meyer Produce in their own way continuing to share their story and building connections to the farm.
